The following appear to be the git supported formats: proto://user:pass@host/path (URI format) user@host:path (SSH format) /path or ./path or ../path (local file format) We adjust the parsing to find out if we have a URI format or not. When we are NOT in URI format, we do our best to determine SSH or file format by looking for a ':' in the overall string. If we find a ':' we assume SSH format and adjust accordingly. Note, in SSH format we simply replace the ':' with a '/' when constructing the URL. However, if the original path was ":/...", we don't want '//' so we deal with this corner case as well. Bitbake
=======
BitBake is a generic task execution engine that allows shell and Python tasks to be run
efficiently and in parallel while working within complex inter-task dependency constraints.
One of BitBake's main users, OpenEmbedded, takes this core and builds embedded Linux software
stacks using a task-oriented approach.

for OpenEmbedded (and its core) not bitbake patches (bitbake-devel@lists.openembedded.org)
but in general main guidelines apply. Once the commit(s) have been created, the way to send
the patch is through git-send-email. For example, to send the last commit (HEAD) on current
branch, type:
git send-email -M -1 --to bitbake-devel@lists.openembedded.org
