Currently, viewing the help text with snmpd -h results in snmpd being started in the background. $ snmpd -h Usage: snmpd [OPTIONS] [LISTENING ADDRESSES] [snip] $ ps -ef | grep snmpd root 1477 1 0 05:46 ? 00:00:00 snmpd -h Backport a patch to fix this issue.
